Impossible – Therosia Reynolds – Summer 17 Rooted Minds Blog Poetry Contest Submission

Impossible by Therosia Reynolds
So impossible tried talking to me today
Asking if these dreams were worth my focus everyday
Breaking down the probability
Of impossibility
The Likely
Outcome
Each line more Fear, some
Than the last
Finally I gasped
Do you know me
Been fighting
Since quarters turned centuries
Half time calling and the cheer all mention me
More than an anomaly
I am normality
Supernatural laminin
Melonin
Screaming DNA come do that magic again
No It is not likely that I win
But I defied the odds, my birth says I’m destined to win
I already beat out millions
Code writing
Sparking others passion while I’m killing them
Softly
These words like precious oil so costly
Poured out to offer me
As a sacrifice
Reaching Heaven
My pursuits fall but get up like Seven
Know this Impossible
You just misread them
I get you set the bars pretty high
But goals are only the next landing
Catapulting me to fly
Nope never take them lies as the gospel
Where other read Impossible
I only see I’m possible.
